“Memory as Resistance – Original Painting”
In 1948 something began: a claim over land, a voice saying “this is mine”—forgetting it already belonged to someone else. A story that keeps repeating itself across many nations, not just one.

Through this painting I wanted to give shape to my dissent. I chose the figure of a monkey-judge, a bitterly ironic symbol of what history often hides behind the glasses of power.

Memory is not just a detail of the past: it is a key to understanding the present and imagining a different future. This work is dedicated not only to what is happening in Gaza, but also in Ukraine, Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen, and Congo.

To share is to resist:

• to remember,

• to understand,

• to develop a critical sense of the injustices that too often remain unspoken.

This painting is an invitation to look where we usually don’t, to see what we’re not supposed to see. Because something is happening, and it will change us irreversibly.

About Primate Collection

An expressive bestiary of apes, instincts, and symbols.

This is dedicated to all those people are good looking and funny and a big sense of humor😜🤣. As a wildlife and urban sketcher artist, I’ve always been fascinated by the expressions of animals. This original painting is part of my Primate Collection, a series of black and white acrylic portraits that explore the emotional depth and symbolic resonance of apes and monkeys.

Inspired by an encounter in the dense jungle, I set out to capture not just the likeness of these magnificent creatures, but their essence. In the stark contrast of black and white, each face becomes a mirror: expressive, introspective, almost human. The eyes hold stories. The features, raw emotion. These portraits challenge the viewer to see beyond species, to feel a connection that transcends the boundary between human and animal.

Every piece is unique, painted by hand, and comes signed on the back with a certificate of authenticity. This artwork is not only a tribute to the primal, instinctual world of our cousins, but a call to empathy, reminding us of our shared origins.

Nel 1948 è iniziato qualcosa che ha cambiato il mondo: terre dichiarate “proprietà di qualcuno” dimenticando che appartenevano già ad altri. Una storia che si ripete, in molte nazioni, sotto diverse forme.

Con questa pittura ho scelto di dare forma al mio dissenso. Ho rappresentato una scimmia-giudice, simbolo ironico e amaro di ciò che la storia nasconde dietro gli occhiali del potere.

La memoria non è solo un dettaglio del passato: è una chiave per leggere il presente e immaginare un futuro diverso. Per questo questa opera è dedicata non solo a ciò che accade in Gaza, ma anche in Ucraina, Sudan, Myanmar, Yemen e Congo.

Continuare a condividere è fondamentale:

• per ricordare,

• per comprendere,

• per sviluppare un senso critico sulle ingiustizie che troppo spesso rimangono invisibili.

Questa pittura è un invito a guardare oltre, a fermarsi dove di solito distogliamo lo sguardo. Perché qualcosa sta accadendo, e ci cambierà in maniera irreversibile.

Come artista naturalista e urban sketcher, sono sempre stato attratto dalle espressioni degli animali. Questo dipinto originale fa parte della mia Primate Collection, una serie di ritratti in bianco e nero che indagano la dimensione emotiva e simbolica di scimmie e primati.

L’ispirazione è nata da un incontro inaspettato nella giungla: volevo immortalare non solo la bellezza esteriore di queste creature, ma la loro interiorità. In bianco e nero, ogni volto si trasforma in un archetipo: uno specchio emotivo, intenso, quasi umano. Gli occhi raccontano storie. Le linee del volto esprimono emozioni viscerali. Questi ritratti ci invitano a vedere oltre la specie, a riconoscere una connessione profonda tra noi e loro.

Ogni opera è unica, realizzata a mano e firmata sul retro, accompagnata da certificato di autenticità. Un omaggio al mondo istintuale e ancestrale che ci accomuna, e un invito alla compassione.
