Blind Contour Collection
Limited Edition Portraits of the Artists Who Shaped My Vision

“A tribute to artistic ancestry through raw line, shadow, and emotion.”
Andrea Pertolo.jpg

Blind Contour Collection is a unique series of limited edition charcoal portraits dedicated to the artists, famous and forgotten, who shaped my creative path. Created between 2012 and 2016, each piece in this collection reflects a deep emotional connection and a personal homage to those who left a mark on my visual language.

The works are crafted using the “Blind Contour” technique: a disciplined, meditative method where the eye never leaves the subject, and the hand never looks at the page. This results in powerful, organic lines and a raw intensity that captures the subject’s spirit beyond realism.

Each portrait is 30×40 cm, drawn on premium 200g paper with charcoal and white chalk, emphasizing dramatic contrasts between light and shadow. Every piece is the outcome of a 2 to 4-hour session of focused immersion, resulting in a rare harmony of technique and emotion.

This award-winning series received First Prize at Io Espongo 2013, held by Azimut Cultural Association in Turin, Italy, recognizing the emotional depth and conceptual strength of the project.

You’ll also find the Freaks Animals collection: mythological hybrid creatures rendered with the same expressive contour technique, extending the narrative from the human to the fantastical.

Each artwork is signed, numbered, and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Ideal for collectors of visionary and narrative art, these portraits offer a rare blend of technique, tribute, and contemporary drawing.
