The Sins of the Hero
A Pop Allegory of Vice Through Superhuman Eyes

“When power meets flaw, mythology becomes modern.”
Avarizia

The Sins of the Hero” is a sold-out series of 7 original oil paintings on board that reinterprets the Seven Deadly Sins through the visual language of superheroes. Created in May 2014 using a unified palette and completed in parallel, this collection blends pop culture with classical symbolism, confronting the paradox of virtue and vice in contemporary society.

Each painting pairs a superhero figure with a deadly sin, turning familiar icons into symbols of human fragility. Rather than glorifying powers, the series unveils the psychological and moral shadows lurking beneath masks and capes.

Critically acclaimed, this series was featured in art magazines, two dedicated catalogs, and exhibited only twice before being acquired in its entirety by a private collector. It remains a cornerstone of my conceptual work and continues to inspire collectors and scholars interested in symbolic art, dark pop, and narrative painting.

For a deeper dive into the series' meaning, I invite you to explore the three critical essays published on my blog, where each painting is discussed in detail, unveiling layers of myth, satire, and psychology.

Soon available as high-quality art prints for collectors who missed the originals.
