Kisangani in Chimpanze

As I said I'm another post the monkey is a curious and ironic animal just like the artist. In this one a city is growing inside the mouth. If you know the monkeys behaviour they are quite good to adapt everywhere. So probably this animal of my collection is the best integrated in the Urbanimal Universe

The city is Kisangani, Democratic Republic of the Congo
Chimpanzees (Pan troglodytes) are native to Central and West Africa. A city historically located near their natural habitat is Kisangani, in the Congolese rainforest. Now is in the mouth.

This series symbolically and surreally explores the cohabitation of animals with an urban landscape. Here the ecological approach that distinguishes human/nature relationship is central by inviting us to perceive the earth as a living entity, as a large garden in which all the ignored fragments of the landscape offer us opportunities for regeneration. This was inspired by Gilles Clément's concept of "Third Landscape." All works are signed and certified.
